Coolant Fluids for Your Vehicle

We stock a range of coolants from Valvoline and Hi-Tec Oils suitable for use in most makes and models of passenger vehicles.

Valvoline Coolants

Not all coolants are made the same. Choosing the right coolant, tested and proven to meet industry standards, is essential to the long term protection of an engine cooling system. Valvoline works closely with the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers to understand the requirements of today’s engine technology. Valvoline ZEREX™ and heavy duty coolants include those with Automaker Approved Chemistry™, which means the coolant chemistry is the same as specified by the manufacturer. The result is a comprehensive range of fully formulated products with approved chemistries by many leading OEMs, providing the very best in engine protection. Valvoline’s ZEREX and HD coolants are available in both organic acid technology (OAT) and hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) formulations.

Zerex Dex-Cool

ZEREX™ DEX-COOL

Incorporates organic acid technology in an ethylene glycol base for protection on all cooling system metals, including aluminium, from corrosion. It has a patented carboxylate formulation with a service life of up to 5 years or 240,000 kilometers (whichever comes first) and is approved by General Motors to the GM 6277M specification.

ZEREX™ DEX-COOL® coolant contains no phosphates, silicates, borates, nitrates, amines or nitrites.

ZEREX™ DEX-COOL® coolant protects modern engine components from winter freezing and summer boiling. It contains a high quality defoamer and will not harm gaskets, hoses, plastics or original vehicle paint.

  • GM Dex-Cool® Approved.
  • Protection for up to 5 years or 240,000 kms (whichever comes first).
  • Utilises Organic Acid Technology (OAT) to minimise inhibitor depletion.
  • Patented formula contains no phosphates, silicates, borates, nitrates, amines or nitrites.
  • Excellent rust and corrosion protection.
  • Protects mixed cooling system metals including aluminium.
Zerex G-05

ZEREX™ G-05

A nitrite containing coolant designed to protect diesel engine cylinder liners from cavitation. It contains deposit control additives for protection from hard water deposits and scale. Its lower-silicate, reduced pH, phosphate free European technology protects all cooling system metals, including aluminium, from corrosion.

  • Protection for up to 5 years or 240,000 kms (whichever comes first).
  • Utilises hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) to minimise inhibitor depletion.
  • Low silicate, low pH and phosphate free formula.
  • Provides maximum protection against liner pitting.
  • Prevents rust and corrosion.
  • Prevents hot weather boil-over and provides cold weather freeze protection.
  • Protects mixed cooling system metals including aluminium.
Zerex G-48

ZEREX™ G-48

Universal ethylene glycol-based formulation suitable for passenger cars, light trucks and heavy-duty vehicles when mixed with demineralised water. The formulation is designed for both petrol and diesel engines. Its low-silicate, low pH, phosphate free European technology protects all cooling system metals, including aluminium, from corrosion.

ZEREX™ G-48 coolant is compatible with major long life and conventional brands of ethylene glycol based coolant and meets ASTM D4985 for heavy duty trucks. It contains less than 250 parts per million of silicon as required by the heavy duty trucking industry. It also meets ASTM specification D3306 for automobiles and light trucks.

  • Multi-purpose application, designed for petrol and diesel engines.
  • Utilises hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) to minimise inhibitor depletion.
  • Low silicate, low pH and phosphate free formula.
  • Provides maximum protection against liner pitting.
  • Help prevents rust and corrosion.
  • Prevent hot weather boil-over and cold weather freeze.
  • Protects mixed cooling system metals including aluminium.

Reliable and Affordable Cooling System in NSW

Your engine’s cooling system prevents your vehicle’s engine from overheating. It dissipates the heat produced by the engine’s combustion. It also regulates the temperature in the passenger’s compartment, so that everyone in the car will feel comfort all throughout the trip.

What Makes Up Your Engine’s Cooling System?

An engine’s cooling system is made up of the radiator, the cooling fluid or the coolant, radiator fan, radiator hoses, water pump, heater core, temperature knob, temperature control valve, thermostat, temperature gauge and sensor, reservoir, and the radiator pressure cap. Your radiator is the main component of your engine’s cooling system. It is the radiator that dissipates the heat from the coolant that flows through it. The radiator fan provides the air needed for the process. The radiator hoses link the radiator to the engine, and it is where the coolant is fed to the engine. The water pump is responsible for circulating the coolant around the cooling system and the engine.

Meanwhile, the temperature knob controls the temperature control valve in the engine compartment. It allows you to warm or cool the interior of the vehicle. The thermostat is responsible for maintaining the coolant and the engine at its operating temperature. The radiator cap seals the filling hole and seals the cooling system at a specific pressure. Unfortunately, the cooling system can become corroded overtime if not maintained properly. This can eventually lead to engine failure. High quality and recommended coolant must be used to your vehicle’s particular model.

Note, however, that you should never mix different types of coolants for your cooling system. They must also be periodically maintained and replaced for optimum performance. Don’t worry – ISP Islington can help you choose the right coolant for your car, trailers, or caravan!
